    Kris

    OWNER, FOUNDER & CAT GROOMER

My name is Kris and I am the proud co-owner/founder of Paws & Purrs Grooming. The idea for a Fear Free Certified grooming salon has been an idea of mine for several years now and I am truly excited to make it a reality. I believe grooming should be a positive experience for everyone and were dedicated to making that happen. With over 16 years of professional pet grooming experience (and certification dating back to 1991) I bring a lifetime of passion and expertise to Paws & Purrs. Alongside 2 decades working in veterinary medicine, my deep love for animals has shaped my career and commitment to providing top-tier care.

When I am not pampering pets at Paws & Purrs I am out hiking, riding my horse, Sweetpea, or reading. I Love all things Disney and try to get there at least once a year. I share my house with a special needs border collie named Cowboy and a tiny sassy chihuahua named Buffy.

    OWNER, FOUNDER & CAT GROOMER

Following a fulfilling 14-year career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic led me to seek a new career path in veterinary medicine and dedicating my expertise to the care of cats. Through immersive training and education in Fear Free methods, I learned how to safely work within a pet’s zone of comfort. Seeing firsthand the benefits of Fear Free inspired me to launch Paws & Purrs Grooming, a space where practice meets understanding, ensuring that every pet receives the gentle care they deserve. I’m committed to creating a serene grooming experience for pets and their owners.

I enjoy all things Disney, camping, plants and have a love for spicy foods. I live at home with 2 amazing cats Bagheera and Toulouse.

    GROOMER

Growing up, animals have always been a big part of my life. Anything from snakes, to dogs, to horses, I’ve always been an advocate for learning more about how to best care for, and create a peaceful and enriching environment for both them and myself. My interest in dog grooming came from my love for art and blossomed into a rewarding career that I’ve been enjoying for almost 4 years. I’ve learned to become a dedicated dog groomer and have developed a passion for transforming pups into their most fabulous versions of walking art! I believe in creating a stress-free and enjoyable grooming experience where every time spent with your dog is an opportunity to blend artistry with care, ensuring each dog leaves looking and feeling their best.

    GROOMER

After working in customer service all the way through covid, I realized I needed a break. So, I decided to use the love that I’ve always had for all of our furry little babies and switch to working with dogs. I’ve been working with dogs for about 2.5 years now and have ended up absolute loving it. Dogs are such a big part of our lives and I want to help your dog feel as comfortable, clean and calm as they can be. Going through fear free training is something that made me really excited to continue working dogs, considering I’ve worked with so many that are anxious, fearfully aggressive, or even just nervous to be in a new place with new people. This is our dogs’ first time at life, just like us. If your dog has never been to a groomer or has had an unpleasant experience that’s left them nervous or unsure about going again, I’m super excited to give your dog a fresh experience on what dog grooming, tailored to your dogs overall experience and emotions, can look like.

  • Kayla

    GROOMER

Hi, I’m Kayla! I’ve lived in Central Oregon my whole life and have always been surrounded by animals, nature, and music. When I’m not grooming, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, taking care of my plants, reading, fishing, collecting crystals, or diving into anything Disney—Stitch is my favorite. But mostly, I’m with my pup!

I’ve been working with animals for about 5 years and grooming for nearly 3. I’m mostly self-taught, and I quickly realized I love a calm, one-on-one environment over the typical rushed salon setting. Creating a positive, low-stress experience where pets can feel safe and relaxed is really important to me.

I’ve always loved caring for animals—I was the one happily bathing all the family dogs growing up—so this path felt natural. My dog Nelson is my whole world and a big part of why I care so much about making grooming as stress-free and comforting as possible. I truly treat every pet like they’re my own.

I’m excited to keep growing my skills, learning new techniques, and continuing to build trust with both pets and their people.

    GROOMER

Growing up, I never really had the knack for traditional school subjects like math, science, or sports. My brain has always worked in a more creative way. I grew up singing in choir from elementary school through high school, took violin, ukulele, and guitar classes, and found joy in painting and crafting. I always knew I was drawn toward something creative that reflected who I am.
I’ve had dogs my whole life, and they have always been my favorite part of coming home — my furry little friends who brought so much happiness to my day. A little over five years ago, I started my journey working with dogs, beginning in doggy daycare, then moving into bathing, boarding, and eventually grooming.
I can say without a doubt that working with dogs and helping them feel happy, comfortable, and confident has been one of the greatest gifts I’ve found. Grooming allows me to combine my creativity with my love for animals, and I truly believe every pet deserves patience, kindness, and respect.
I found that corporate grooming environments were not the right fit for me because I wanted to take my time, build trust, and provide the calm, gentle experience every pet deserves — not a rushed or stressful one. I’m so grateful to be part of a fear-free team that shares those values.
Every dog I meet is treated with the same care and love I give my own pets. I believe grooming should be a positive experience where pets feel safe, understood, and cared for.
I can’t wait to meet all of my new furry friends and give them a transformation that leaves them looking beautiful, feeling comfortable, and excited to come back!
